Along the Way

After returning from Florida, I went back to Minnesota.  As I drove, I kept my camera handy and took pictures of things I don't really see in Japan.

As I have been traveling the past few weeks, I have not been blogging-on this blog.  I have been invited to write for a friend's blog.  She is blogging through the Bible as her husband preaches through the Bible.  She found that it was a lot for her to do every day so asked some friends to join her on the journey.

Florida Adventure Continues, Part 3

I was also in Florida for work!  I attended a seminar for church planters.  It was awesome!
実は、仕事のためにフロリダ州に行きました。開拓伝道のためのセミナーを参加した。とってもよかった！
Over 5000 people attended the seminar.  We had beautiful times of worship and great times of learning.
5000人以上が参加しました。きれいな賛美タイムも素晴しいメッセージもあった。

Paul Coleman was on fire!  He loves God and wants to share that love with
as many people as possible, as soon as possible!

I stayed at a lovely hotel by a lake and enjoyed the evenings there-after sushi!

I was so happy and it was delicious!

Florida Adventures, Part 2

On Sunday I got to attend church with my friend's entire family.  They each had a role in the service.  It was a beautiful time of worship!
日曜日に友達とご家族と一緒に教会に行きました。礼拝に皆がそれぞれの役割ごあった。美しい礼拝でした。

The church had beautiful stained glass windows around the sanctuary.
礼拝堂に綺麗なステンドグラスがあった。

Susan, Phoebe, and Jesse were all part of the music team.
スサン、フェービ、ジェシーが賛美チームだった。

Jon was preaching and had a baby dedication.
ジャンがメッセージも赤ちゃんを神様に授ける式もしました。（日本語で何を言うかわからない。）

We had donuts for breakfast and Cuban food for lunch.
ドーナッツの朝ごはんとキューバ料理の昼ご飯を食べた。

Susan is my American Coco.  スサンが私のアメリカでのココです！

A Visit to Florida, Part 1

The week after going to Minnesota, where there was still snow, I got to go to Florida!
雪があるミネソタ州の後、フロリダ州に行ってきました。

I went to attend a conference, but got to go a few days early and visit friends, Flat Coco's American twin.
仕事のために行きましたが、友達を合いに行くためにちょっと早めに行った。

We had fun in the airport gift shop while waiting for the plane.
飛行機を待ってる間に、空港のお土産屋で楽しんだ。

We went to Chick-fil-a...

We also stopped at a beautiful church.　綺麗な教会も尋ねました。

Then we saw the great Kapok Tree!  次はカポックの木を見た。

While we were walking around my favorite flip flops, which I bought in Maui, broke.  Since it was almost Phoebe's birthday, we bought matching shoes!
この日に私の大好きなサンダルが直れない状態になったので、フェービと新しいサンダルを買った。

The adventure continues...

Quilting with Coco

My home church, West Center Baptist in Madison, SD, has a quilting ministry.  Tonight I was able to help out again.  The last time I was there I took some pictures of Flat Coco helping out.
母教会でキルトミニストリーがあります。今晩、もう一度参加できた。この間参加したとき、ココと写真を写った。

How to make a prayer quilt:
祈りキルトの作り方：

The fabric gets cut and matched.
生地を切って、合わせた。

Then the squares get sewn together.
そして、生地を縫った。

The seams are ironed to make the quilt more beautiful and easier to sew.
アイロンで縫い目をきれいになって、もうちょっと縫いやすい。

Once the top is made, it is pinned to the filling and back so that it can be sewn together.
キルトのトップが完成した後、トップと裏面がピンでくっ付ける。

Betty sews on the tags.  Then ties are placed in preparation for prayer.
裏面に名札があって、そして、最後に紐があちこちに入れた。

Finally, the strings are tied to represent the prayers said for the person receiving the quilt.
最後に、紐を結びます。紐は祈りの印です。

We also celebrate important events, like Marian's birthday!
Marianの誕生日を祝いた。
